University of Wyoming Calls On Spalk for Remote Commentary of Soccer Games on Mountain West Network

The University of Wyoming has begun a partnership with Spalk to utilize the market leading Virtual Commentary Studio to power their commentary productions, starting with the 2023 Wyoming Cowgirls soccer season.

The partnership comes about so that Wyoming can guarantee it can use its preferred broadcasters including Bridget Howard and Daniel Gillman on all matches this season, regardless of if they are in-venue or working from home.

“We don’t see Spalk as a vendor, but as an important technology partner. We are grateful for the very trusting cooperation and the highest level of support.,” says Dennis Trapani, Associate AD for Creative Services at the University of Wyoming. “To be able to utilize a cloud based tool like Spalk’s Virtual Commentary Studio to easily scale our commentary operations, elevate the broadcast quality, and reduce travel and production costs.”

Spalk’s Virtual Commentary Studio is a cloud based remote commentary tool that allows commentators to commentate from anywhere – using only a laptop, an internet connection and a broadcast microphone. Spalk automatically synchronizes and mixes the commentary with the international sound and delivers a fully produced feed to the Mountain West Network.

“We are thrilled to be working with the University of Wyoming, a college who is known around the industry to set incredibly high standards for their live game production” says Tom Read, Chief Commercial Officer at Spalk. “The Cowgirls are the Mountain West defending champions and so we’re excited that our Virtual Commentary Studio is playing a role in their gameday technology stack.”
