YES Network, MSG Networks Launch Venture To Offer Streaming Tech Stack to Other Entities

Streaming products will be customizable, able to deliver locally branded customer experiences

The YES Network and MSG Networks have formed Gotham Advanced Media and Entertainment (GAME), a 50/50 joint venture that will build on the technical and operational synergies associated with YES and MSGN streaming services and offer them to others looking to launch a streaming video service.

YES Network’s Jon Litner: “With the launch of GAME, we develop new product offerings and premium features and functionality to serve audiences like never before.”

“As we continue to capitalize on the momentum created by YES’s award-winning digital offerings,” says YES Network CEO Jon Litner, “we look forward to collaborating with MSG Networks to further elevate the fan experience. With the launch of GAME, we are excited to develop new product offerings and premium features and functionality to serve audiences like never before, while also providing a scalable tech solution for third-party content owners seeking to deliver state-of-the-art streaming experiences to their customers.”

Leveraging the combined experience of the two pioneering sports- media companies and sharing their award-winning technical and operational expertise, GAME will offer content creators looking to deliver video an innovative, full-stack video-streaming platform for DTC/TVE audiences. From design and content delivery across all platforms to ongoing management, technological and marketing services, Gotham Advanced Media and Entertainment is redefining the sports-media ecosystem.

Combining the technical and operational expertise that each company has garnered from the successful launch and operation of YES App and MSG+, respectively, GAME will offer turnkey digital-content–distribution services — platform technology, operational support, comprehensive data analytics — to third parties. Its developers expect potential clients to benefit from a broad range of world-class streaming services, all of which would be run centrally by an expert staff experienced in live sports streaming and catering to clients’ particular needs.

MSG Networks’ Andrea Greenberg: “We are excited to partner with YES to create solutions for content providers looking for a seamless way to reach new audiences.”

MSG Networks President/CEO Andrea Greenberg notes that the joint venture with YES combines the streaming expertise of two of the largest regional sports networks in the country.

“With the formation of GAME,” she says, “we seek to marry our collective insight, expertise, and best-in-class technology not only to explore enhancements to our own products but also to offer other networks, teams, and sports properties an efficient way to launch a state-of-the-art streaming service. We are excited to partner with YES to create solutions for third-party content providers looking for a seamless way to reach new audiences.”
