WWE Names ESPN Veteran Lee Fitting New Head of Media and Production

Fitting previously oversaw all college- and pro-football production for ESPN

WWE has brought aboard longtime ESPN veteran Lee Fitting as its new head of media and production. Fitting’s arrival follows the departure of  Executive Producer Kevin Dunn, who had been with WWE for over four decades before his retirement was announced last month.

Lee Fitting brings more than 20 years of production experience to WWE.

“Lee is a phenomenal leader and executive known for work that generates both critical acclaim and mass appeal,” says WWE President Nick Khan. “Lee will be a tremendous addition to our stellar media and production team and play a key role in helping catapult WWE’s growth.”

Bringing more than two decades of production experience to WWE, at, Fitting most recently served as SVP of production at ESPN, overseeing all college and pro football. He also managed production for such tentpole properties as Monday Night Football, College GameDay, the College Football Playoff, and other properties within the Disney portfolio.

Fitting left ESPN unexpectedly in August just five days before the broadcaster produced its first college-football game of the season. Although ESPN did not comment on the shocking move, an internal memo cited “a new production structure for the NFL, college football, SEC Network, and XFL.”

WWE was officially sold to Endeavor last September, with Endeavor merging WWE and the UFC into a new entity known as TKO Group Holdings. Distributed in 25 languages across 165 countries, WWE delivers new and live programming to fans 52 weeks a year. Its flagship shows (Monday Night Raw, Friday Night SmackDown, NXT), Premium Live Events (WrestleMania, SummerSlam, Royal Rumble), and award-winning slate of original programs reach more than 1 billion homes globally.
