NBA 2K League Names Jeremy Haber as First COO

The NBA 2K League names Jeremy Haber, former assistant general manager of the Chicago White Sox, as the league’s first Chief Operating Officer.  Haber will begin in this new role in February, reporting to NBA 2K League CEO Andrew Perlmutter.

Haber will play a role in defining the league’s long-term growth strategy and in executing top priorities, including building on the collaborative relationships with the NBA and 2K for the NBA 2K League.  He will also oversee daily league operations and league wide business functions.

“I am thrilled for Jeremy to join our leadership team and help design the next phase of the NBA 2K League’s growth trajectory,” says Perlmutter. “From identifying new competitive opportunities to crafting and implementing long-term strategy, he brings expertise in building sports businesses through innovation, analytics and technology that will benefit the league for many years to come.”

“With talented players, engaged teams, and devoted fans, the NBA 2K League is at the forefront of esports competition,” says Haber. “I am so excited to join Andrew and this passionate community and immediately begin our work on the NBA 2K League’s next chapter.”

Haber joins the NBA 2K League after 11 seasons with the Chicago White Sox, including nine as the team’s assistant general manager.  In that role he assisted the General Manager in the day-to-day management of the baseball operations department, including player evaluation and acquisition, free agent and trade negotiations, and roster and payroll management.  He was also the lead negotiator for over $250M in player contracts, worked closely with the player development, amateur, and professional scouting departments in setting department priorities, and helped launch the analytics and high-performance divisions.

Haber earned his JD from Harvard Law School, MBA from Harvard Business School, and BA from Brown University.
