Snapchat Brings Camera Kit Technology to Super Bowl LVIII

This year, the NFL will integrate Snapchat’s Camera Kit technology at Allegiant Stadium, marking the first time Snapchat’s Camera Kit technology has been integrated into a Super Bowl host stadium. Throughout the game, the NFL will place Lenses on attending fans to enhance the overall experience including custom Vegas Super Bowl-themed helmets and helmets for both competing NFL teams.

Camera Kit Live

  • As mentioned, for the first time ever, the NFL will integrate Snap’s Camera Kit technology at Allegiant Stadium for Super Bowl LVIII.

    • Viewable on stadium screens during the game, the NFL will place entertaining, engaging Lenses on fans to enhance the overall fan experience at the game.

    • Lenses include custom Vegas Super Bowl-themed helmets and helmets for both the 49ers and Chiefs.

Camera Kit in NFL App 

  • In addition, the NFL will have custom Super Bowl experiences available in the official NFL app through Camera Kit.

    • Lenses include a gamified Super Bowl experience featuring trivia questions about the 49ers and the Chiefs.

AR Mirror

  • Snapchat is also partnering with the NFL to bring the Snap AR mirror to NFL House, the official hospitality space for NFL Players and guests in Las Vegas (Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas location).

    • The AR mirror will display Super Bowl and NFL-themed lenses

AR In-App Experiences 

  • NFL Super Bowl Lens: the lens will allow Snapchatters to predict various game outcomes.

    • Snapchatters will be prompted to answer a series of questions by tilting their head side-to-side to make selections. Throughout the experience, Snapchatters will see real-time data on how the rest of Snapchat is making their picks (i.e. 73% picked the Chiefs to win). At the end of the game, Snapchatters will be able to return to the Lens to see if their picks were right.

    • This is a new API integration that allows Snapchatters to see aggregate data from other Snapchatters engaging with the lens experience.

    • The NFL will be one of the first partners to utilize this new API technology on Snapchat.

  • NFL Live Jersey Lens: Snapchatters can seamlessly try on official NFL jerseys for both Super Bowl teams by using Snapchat’s Live Garment Transfer technology, so Snapchatters look like they are wearing the real thing!

    • Snapchatters can also visit directly from the Lens to purchase the jersey.

    • This Lens will be available in search, the NFL’s official Snap Profile and Snap’s Lens Carousel.


  • Snapchat is launching a football themed Spotlight challenge in partnership with the NFL to celebrate Super Bowl

    • Concept: #TouchdownCelebration – Submit your most epic NFL Super Bowl #TouchdownCelebration for a chance to win a share of $20,000! How to enter the #TouchdownCelebration Spotlight Challenge beginning February 7 through February 13:

      1. Access Spotlight to the right of the camera via the “Play” symbol (or tap HERE on mobile)

      2. Tap the trending up symbol at the top right corner of Spotlight

      3. Select the Challenge and create a video using the Snapchat Camera or upload from Camera Roll!

  • The NFL will also post content to Spotlight from their verified @NFL Snap Star account throughout the week leading up to the Super Bowl and on Super Bowl Sunday.


  • Super Bowl-themed Cameo Stickers will be available on game day via Search and in the sticker drawer.
