Patrick Crumb Named as President of TNT Sports’ New Sports Ventures Unit

Patrick Crumb is taking on a new position at Warner Bros. Discovery as President of Sports Ventures for TNT Sports. Crumb has been head of the company’s RSN division, before WBD exited the business last year by closing AT&T Sports Networks in Colorado, Houston, and Pittsburgh. According to SBJ, TNT Sports’ new Sports Ventures unit will include the businesses of Golf Digest, NBA Digital and NCAA Digital, and will also be tasked with investing in new sports and league ventures. Crumb will continue to report directly to TNT Sports Chair & CEO Luis Silberwasser.

Prior to the formation of Warner Bros. Discovery, Crumb was the President of AT&T Sports Networks (formerly DIRECTV Sports Networks), a subsidiary of AT&T and WarnerMedia He was responsible for leading the AT&T Sports Networks group and its four regional sports networks branded as AT&T SportsNet and (in the NW) ROOT SPORTS. The four networks, based in Denver, CO, Pittsburgh, PA, Houston, TX and Bellevue, WA, held exclusive telecast rights to over two dozen professional and collegiate teams.

Prior to serving as President of DIRECTV Sports Networks, Crumb held senior executive positions in major media companies as Executive Vice President & General Counsel of Liberty Sports Group, a subsidiary of Denver-based Liberty Media, and as a Senior Vice President & General Manager for Los Angeles-based Fox Interactive Media, a division of News Corporation.

A 1988 graduate of the University of Washington’s School of Law, Crumb was a partner at two prominent Seattle law firms before leaving private practice in 2000 to join Rival Networks and Rivals.com as the Senior Vice President of Corporate & Business Development. Following Rivals, Crumb became the co-founder and President of Scout Media from start up through the successful sale of the company to Fox Interactive Media in 2005.
