GRUP MEDIAPRO Produces the African Cup of Nations Held in the Ivory Coast

CAF teamed up with GRUP MEDIAPRO for the production of the 34th African Cup of Nations (AFCON 2023), the most important international tournament on the continent which took place in the Ivory Coast from January 13th to February 11th.

The deployment made possible 160 hours of live coverage across a total of 52 matches across 6 different stadia in 5 different cities around the country. The group was also responsible for the HB international feed as well as the provision of VAR services and the set-up of the IBCC in the Olympic stadium in Abiyán.

Technical equipment included 12 vehicles, 6 OB vans and 5 support trucks. The production also featured RF cameras across all the venues, minicams, steady cams, Jimmy jibs, netcams, among other cameras and with the set-up of a special camera area in the Olympic Stadium, in addition to 6 VAR Fly Kits and an IBCC production HUB for CAF, where they produced the distribution signals and the match highlights.

GRUP MEDIAPRO brought together an international team for the broadcast project made up of 120 staff from countries such as the Ivory Coast, Portugal, Spain, France, Turkey, Chile, Brazil, Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, Nigeria and Morocco.

Since 2002, the group has been present in Africa, where it has bases in several locations and it has provided audiovisual production services for the World Cup in South Africa, the African Cup of Nations and the Kenyan Football League.
