Annual AIMS IP Oktoberfest Focuses on AVoIP
Advanced Media Workflow Association and others present online conference
Story Highlights
This year’s AIMS IP Oktoberfest — an annual conference covering advances in implementing IP-based media workflows, presented by the Alliance for IP Media Solutions in partnership with the Video Services Forum (VSF) and the Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA) — took place online Sept. 28-30. It offered three days of educational presentations by industry experts in the Pro AV/IPMX, audio, and broadcast markets.
Presentation topics were based on feedback from working groups and various questions received from interested parties throughout the previous quarter.
Specifically, this year’s Day 2 focused on audio/NMOS and the role of NMOS in supporting IP-based workflows. The day’s program offered five presentations on the virtual stage as well as various discussion groups and networking opportunities, including a panel titled “NextGen Audio Deployment in SMPTE 2110-Based Live Workflows.”
“AIMS’s mission in putting together IP Oktoberfest is to achieve a balance in providing an educational experience for our audience while also supporting member companies,” says AIMS Marketing Work Group Chair Tiffany Haley.
Adds AIMS Chairman Michael Cronk, “We’ve developed a strong lineup of experts from leading technology suppliers and forward-looking media organizations. These experts will share their insights and experiences to support the broader industry moving toward IP.”
