Remembering Jack Whitaker: A Tribute to One of Sports TV’s Great Wordsmiths

The Sports Broadcasting Hall of Famer passed away Sunday

Sports Broadcasting Hall of Famer and one of sports television’s first great announcers Jack Whitaker died on August 18, at the age of 95.

The man who called Super Bowl I for CBS, countless Triple Crown horse racing events, Olympics, golf majors and much more was one of the most accomplished of TV’s early generation of wordsmiths.

Remember this legendary man’s career with this tribute video from his 2012 Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame induction.
