Canon Invites Essential Workers, Key Customers to Night at Yankee Stadium

There was a lot of action when the New York Yankees played the Minnesota Twins on August 19 at Yankee Stadium. However, it wasn’t all on the field. Canon USA and Canon Solutions America staged a number of activities that made the night a special one for Canon essential employees, business partners and customers.

Canon Americas President and CEO Kevin Ogawa, who has continually expressed his appreciation for the essential workers who helped keep business running during the pandemic, invited Canon USA and Canon Solutions Americas essential workers from Melville and the Canon USA regional office in Jamesburg, NJ, to attend the game. These essential workers came from the General Affairs, IT, and Logistics divisions.

A number of them watched from a suite with Ogawa; Seymour Liebman, Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer, Canon USA; Scott Millar, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Corporate Human Resources and Corporate Communications, Canon USA and Senior Vice President and General Manager, Corporate Human Resources, Canon Solutions America; and Chris Sedlacek, Senior Director and General Manager, Corporate Communications, Canon USA. This group was treated to a visit by former Yankees player Cecil Fielder, who posed for photos and distributed autographed pictures.

Because there were only a limited number of tickets for the suite, other essential workers were seated in the grandstand and were given a voucher for use at the concession stands. Ogawa also made it a point to acknowledge all of the essential employees by posing for photos with them in the suite or on the stadium concourse.

In addition, members of key Canon customers were invited as a gesture of Canon’s thanks for their help in keeping products moving during the pandemic when many complications made that task difficult. They were hosted by Kaz Sasahara, Vice President and General Manager, Logistics, Canon USA, and Dan Schultz and Alex Matsubara, both Senior Directors in the Logistics Division at Canon USA.

As if that weren’t enough activity for one night, Canon Solutions America President Pete Kowalczuk and several other CSA leaders hosted key customers in a pair of suites.

A series of messages also appeared on the Yankee Stadium scoreboard during the game, with one welcoming Canon essential workers, another acknowledging Canon’s business partners and a third welcoming Canon Solutions America’s customers.
