Mediapro Canada Provides Live Production Services for the Concacaf Match Between the Canadian and Jamaican Mens’ Teams

MEDIAPRO Canada produced live coverage for Concacaf of the return match in the Nations League quarter-finals between Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team and Jamaica.
On a cold and rainy day at Toronto’s BMO Field, MEDIAPRO Canada crews were out early to set up Alto, the company’s 53’ 1080p HDR mobile unit, and the 12-camera coverage production, including a swing seat and a beauty cam.

The match was aired live in Canada on OneSoccer, the dedicated soccer channel operated by MEDIAPRO Canada, and was topped and tailed with a live studio program hosted by Andi Petrillo, the first female in Canadian sports television history to win the Canadian Screen Award and the Outstanding Sports Broadcasting Award. Andi was joined on the panel by former Canadian Premier League player turned OneSoccer pundit Jordan Wilson and former Canadian Women’s National Team star Carmelina Moscato, with Adam Jenkins on the pitch as sideline reporter. Commentary in both English and French was provided.

OneSoccer is available in Canada online and on the OneSoccer app, as a linear channel carried on Telus Optik TV and via the channel aggregator FuboTV Canada.

The Canadian men drew Jamaica 4-4 on aggregate but lost on away goals and so failed to progress to the Concacaf Nations League Finals in Arlington, TX next March. The loss also meant that the Canadians won’t qualify automatically for the 2024 Copa America tournament, to be held next summer in the US – although they still have a chance, in a single-leg playoff match in March, to grab one of the final two of six guests spots reserved for Concacaf nations after the confederation a strategic partnership with Conmebol to expand the South American championships in a move designed to strengthen the game in both regions.
