SVG SportsTech On Demand: Globecast's Neil Butterfield on How Globecast VN Changes the Game in Sports Content Acquisition

In an effort to keep the broadcast-technology community informed this spring, throughout April, SVG is hosting a series of SportsTech On Demand video interviews with executives from the industry’s top technology vendors discussing their latest product releases and company news. Our Brandon Costa sat down with Neil Butterfield, director, contribution, Americas and director, sales, Latin America and Southeast U.S., Globecast, about the company’s efforts.

Globecast is currently highlighting its development of a new live sports content acquisition service designed to satisfy the needs of direct-to-consumer online platforms as they continue to enter the sports rights market. Globecast VN is designed to meet the growing need for premium, two-way IP connectivity. Globecast VN brings two-way, high bandwidth, IP-over-satellite connectivity where terrestrial networks aren’t reliable. With Globecast VN, media event producers and content creators can deliver streaming, file transfers, Wi-Fi, 4K, 8K, and 360-degree live content using native IP-based satellite transmission from remote locations.
